Eaton’s Electrical Critical Power & Digital Infrastructure Division is currently seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our team. This is a hybrid position based at our Raleigh, NC facility. Relocation benefits and sponsorship will be provided within the United States only. Position Overview: Eaton’s Electrical Critical Power & Digital Infrastructure Division designs, manufactures, and services Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, batteries, and electronic-based products to ensure power reliability in the most demanding applications. Our employees deliver mission-critical solutions to our customers’ most challenging energy management requirements. As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting control development, implementation, and validation for a wide range of energy storage power conversion and protection products. You will be also responsible for executing plans for the commissioning and support of energy transition products in the field along with contributing to the platforming of development of those products particularly at the power system level. This includes the use Hardware in the Loop (HIL) methodologies during the design and validation on new products within the Eaton’s product portfolio. In this role, you will: Perform modeling and simulation for the power converters and system level controllers Implement, test, and troubleshoot high level controls and system interactions Establish system & sub-system level requirements from functional specifications and application needs Plan and perform design development and validation on HIL and in the lab Support and perform minimum viable product testing and demonstrations in the lab or at customer sites Create technical reports and presentations Initiate and lead design reviews and technical discussions including brainstorming Stay current with the latest technologies trends and applies knowledge to the development of control firmware for power converters When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of two (2) years industry work experience in electrical product development OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of one (1) year of industry work experience in electrical product development. Position Success Criteria: Cross functional team development experience. Experience developing electrical systems. Ability to evaluate and design system architectural considerations involving electrical, software, and mechanical cross-disciplinary principles. Excellent communications skills. Ability to demonstrate problem solving using logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions. Ability to demonstrate process management and figure out processes necessary to get things done. Ability to demonstrate technical learning and can learn new skills, knowledge, industry, product or technical knowledge.
