Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services and Systems division is currently seeking a Lead Electrical Project Manager to join our team. This position will be based out of a facility in the following regions: Houston TX, Dallas TX, San Antonio TX, Austin TX. Position Overview: The Lead Electrical Project Manager is responsible for the use of modern project management tools and techniques to execute projects related to the engineering, procurement, and construction of electrical power system modifications. Modernization projects will relate to the electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution industry with focus on complex turnkey electrical generation (conventional and renewables) and distribution projects These type of project entail significant Eaton equipment familiarity and service platforms around Eaton equipment. The Lead Electrical Project Manager will use his/her knowledge of industrial and utility power distribution equipment, power system engineering, substation design, & construction safety to deliver projects with a high degree of professionalism and safety. The Lead Electrical Project Manager will have full responsibility of project and authority to complete his/her assigned project from inception to scope development, planning, execution, management of people and resources. He or she will have the discipline to create clear and achievable cost, quality, and schedule objectives and follow these objectives through to successful completion. The Lead Electrical Project Manager will also provide technical leadership to the district sales & service teams. Individual must be capable of self-managing and directing a team on awarded projects for electrical equipment, including working knowledge of electrical substation design & installation. Equipment includes transformers, oil circuit breakers, power circuit breakers, power supplies, integrated housings, protective relaying, power cable, substation equipment, motor control centers, medium voltage control, excitation equipment, automatic transfer switches, rotating equipment, and AC drives. Candidate must have a strong focus on customer satisfaction and a track record of successful project execution experience to deliver technical solutions to customers. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must, with ability to be flexible to adjust to changing project conditions. Strong computer skills are required. Travel is required. In this function you will: Manages & maintains the commercial contract between Eaton and its customers Estimates, prepares, submits, and manages change orders between customer and Eaton Manages and communicates the scope of work & responsibilities between Eaton’s customers, Eaton’s employees, & Eaton’s suppliers / sub-contractors Establishes, and manages the contract(s) between Eaton and its vendors & subcontractors Plans, establishes, maintains, and regularly updates a project schedule on assigned projects Manages communication, and distributes documentation between Eaton and its customers Monitors, reports, and controls costs on assigned projects within estimated project margin Reports, forecasts, and presents project financial activity to Eaton’s management Prepares, distributes, and follows through with project safety plan Responsible for financial performance of project including profitability, project revenue, and cash flow When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited institution with minimum 8 years of project management experience OR Associates degree in civil, structural, mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited institution with minimum 15 years of project management experience OR minimum 20 years of project management experience. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship. Position is a hybrid position with a requirement of 2 days in Eaton offices and 3 days work from home. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or associates degree in civil, structural, mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited institution Experience with managing large government projects (Army Corp of Engineers, US Bureau of Reclamations) Experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 Scheduling Software Working knowledge of NERC/FERC, NESC, NEC, ANSI, NETA PMP Certified OSHA 30 Certification First and CPR Trained Minimum of five years of experience in large hydro, power distribution, and/or substation construction Position Success Criteria: Successfully complete and maintain compliance with Eaton's safety program and policies.
