Upskill yourself by leading technical proposals ,learning new design methodologies, solve complex engineering problems, build manufacturing know how & interaction with cross functional teams (CFT) in a matrix organization while delivering on exciting & meaningful business goals as Technical Project Lead in Connector division of Vehicle group Provide technical leadership and expertise for Electric Vehicle Connectors & Terminals. Determine, invent, and lead engineering efforts for High & Low Voltage Connector solution along with Value added products as per customer needs. Work as engineering technical lead for identified NPI program for connector product group to drive the projects from concept to launch. Understand market & customer requirement in Electric Vehicle Connector Space , specifically in High & Low Voltage Segment. Compare various architectures of connectors from open sources and portray the value proposition of Eaton product Vs competition. Determine the innovative ways to meet customer requirements which include -Packaging, Performance, Manufacturing feasibility and Durability. Define technical proposal / concepts based on new RFI's & RFQ from different regional & Global customers’ requirements, Review with Chief Engineer /Sales/Customer to submit viable technical product proposal to create business win opportunity for Eaton. Based on Requirement, Define Overall size, fastening, current rating, protection and mounting for electrical connectors and terminals in line with CPA/TPA, USCAR standards and applicable HVIL requirements. Perform detail calculations / Verification of weight, load distribution, fastener loads, etc. to support the design refinement of connectors and terminals Apply Engineering principles for stamping, die-casting, machining of the electrical connectors and terminals along with DFM&A thought process to ensure ease of Manufacturability and Assembly Work with Engineers or Senior Engineer to ensure detail model, drawings for concept with GD&T controls are created and verified . Prepare design review documents along with program managers for NPI execution and lead the WPA approval along with WPA committee. Must have hands on experience and knowledge of design and material selection for shielding, high performance seals and thermal insulation. Must have knowledge of standards such as USCAR-2, ISO 8092-1,2,3,4, SAE J 1742, LV-215, RoHS etc. Must have knowledge of Electric vehicle layout, Connector Engineering , Competition & Local Supplier Use of DFSS tools Such as Requirement Matrix, P diagram, Boundary Diagram, Product Design scorecard, Risk Management, DFMEA , DOE, Design Analysis Plan (DAP), Design validation plan (DVP). Collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes product engineers, Modeling & Simulation, Manufacturing to define the concept design and take it forward towards launch thru CV, DV, PV phases. Execute the tech/capability roadmaps for connectors Need to have 'Go Beyond mindset' to win new business based of innovative solutions in EV Connector space, Strong presentation, communication & leadership skills needed to drive the technical decision /conclusions Qualifications Requirement – Bachelor's / Master's degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics Engineering with 10+Yrs of experience in Electrical/ Automotive Industry in electromechanical system design & development with min 5+ yrs in connectors design . Hands on experience high & Low voltage connector product design & development life cycle . Plastic & stamping parts design, development , Manufacturing & Assembly experience. Connector material selection, coating specification and testing knowledge GD&T, DFSS tools, DFM/A, DFMEA, DVP, Pro/E, ENOVIA, Engineering Change Management process. Understanding & Interpret Decision from FEA Result. Plastic injection mold & sheet metal tool design would be great to have . Excellent communication (oral and written), presentation skills, Team player with highly effective interpersonal and collaboration skills , Business acumen, Drive for results Ability to operate with minimal supervision Yes!
