Responsibilities: - You take the challenge to reduct the product cost without any reduction in value of the product. You identify room for improvement, lead process optimization, calculate best cost and value positions and ensure transparency. -You employ bottom-up approaches of Cost Value Engineering indicating cost targets of service components based on cost models and aggregated costs per component, cost splits from all manufacturing processes to finishes component level and feasibility of material cost targets. You evaluate cost impacts of alternative technical options concerning the most cost-effective solution. - The ability to drive and identify component cost optimization projects within the project environment and plan future development projects. - Determination of cost targets based on market requirement and benchmarking activities to have an eye on competition and target cost structures. You are used to generate transparency in component cost and value drivers and direct contributor to product cost optimization. - As part of your job, you have to lead a holistic, innovative and strategic approach and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. You always show strong effort to ensure the adherence of all Siemens engineering policies and procedures. Desired Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or related technical field - 10 to 15 years of engineering / manufacturing and strategic procurement experience, preferably in steam turbine domain. - Ability to work independently with minimal guidance or direction. - Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, driving multi-functional teams to achieve results including implementation and controlling of cost reduction and value adding measures. - Knowledge of raw materials and manufactured component markets and suppliers in the region. - Proven experience of finding the best cost-and-value solutions for components, subassemblies and assemblies. - Demonstrated negotiation skills with suppliers for price, agreements and strategic collaborative programs. - Flexibility and willingness for domestic and international travel as required for the position ~25% possible.
