Understand product requirements, design, and develop code, module level and system level embedded software design/coding, validation using programming languages like Assembly, C & C++, Python on embedded systems running on Linux /C, C++ platforms. RTOS knowledge & experience shall be good to have. Involve in technical design including architectural and more detailed object-oriented design. Providing project, process, and technical leadership on project activities & should contribute to product development & technology innovations. Provide overall technical leadership for Products development. Lead in technical aspect of agile development planning efforts. Train, develop and motivate colleagues on technical aspects demonstrating ‘Right to Left’ thinking (starting with consideration for end user). Job Responsibilities 'Independently lead and do hands on in development, design and testing of Electrical Safety products & Fusible products using programming languages like Assembly, C & C++, Python on embedded systems running on primarily on Linux platforms. RTOS platforms hand experience and knowledge will be good to have. Handles build management, change management, and configuration management tools like JIRA/bamboo/TFS/VS/GIT/Stash/Clear Case/Clear Quest/DOORS etc. Suggests and develops re-usable components and looks for continuous improvement opportunities in industrial control & protection products. Share knowledge within the team and demonstrates flexibility working in parallel on multiple assignments/product categories. Physical (Memory, processor utilization) optimization experience in resource constrained systems. Develops an understanding of both technology and product concepts and is able to articulate product and software design. Ensures quality of delivery in accordance with the plan adhering to the standard practices used in agile/waterfall model. Independently able to deal with ambiguous scenarios, requirements inputs & create Proof of concept (POC), Pilots to production ready product releases Leads and participates in project-wide reviews of requirements, system architecture, and detailed design documents; interacts with Management, Architects, and other Leads. Communicates technical concepts and information to internal staff/peers and stakeholders; strong verbal, documentation, and interpersonal communication skills required. Identifies opportunities for process, tools, and technology improvements, and drives those from concept to implementation. Think creatively and come out with new proposals and present them to stakeholders. Estimate workload, establish and maintain project schedules and monitor progress through the project execution phases Contribute to team’s technical growth by engaging in technical discussion and mentoring. Active communication with the cross functional team to ensure schedule, cost and performance alignment Qualifications Requirement: Education level required: Minimum education for this position is a Bachelors in Electrical / Electronics/Controls. Years and area of experience required: 10+ years of hands-on expertise in Linux and C, C++, Python based firmware applications on microcontrollers/microprocessors. RTOS - Real time operating system (Good to have 2-3 yrs +) 3+ Experience in development of fieldbus communication protocols like MQTT, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, Embedded Webserver, Modbus, DeviceNet, Profibus DP, BACNet. Experience in Safety products will be an added advantage. Technical knowledge: 'Experience of industrial communication protocols BACNet, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus,TCP/IP, http, Modbus –TCP, DNP, BACNetIP, websockets etc. Hands on in developing quality software applications. Operating system/RTOS concept, multithreading and IPC concepts, sound knowledge and experience of developing Linux shell scripting, Makefiles and application programming. Extensive experience of using C++ in products associated with Computer vision, Open CV Sound understanding of Operating Systems, Data Structures, Algorithms (big O notation) Object Oriented Programming and Design Patterns Experience with atleast 2 to 3 product launches as technical leader Leverage the latest software technologies and trends such as IoT, and Open Source. Detailed understanding of the Linux Toolkit’s software architecture to fully participate in software development, technical reviews and maintenance efforts. Protocols: - BLE & Wifi, wireless protocols should have exp. Experience in Board bring up / HAL, Boot Loader development. Micro controller selection (MPU, MCU & bare metal programming) should be able to do a tradeoff and take decisions. Soft skills: Good communication skills in English (verbal and written) to communicate information effectively to customers, and technical staff.
