Your essential responsibilities include: Experience in the following areas: Requirement capturing, Concept generation, Detail designing with attention to details, execution of NPI with phase-gate approach Define requirements and design new electromechanical products in collaboration with the product mechanical, software and electrical engineering teams Ability to design product platforms with modular and rationalized design approach Expert in Optical engineering product design for Industrial and commercial luminaires Experience in Optical Analysis tool (e.g. AGI 32, TracePro etc) Expert in LED selection for various industrial applications Thorough knowledge of various optical materials used in luminaires (e.g. Glass, polymers, reflectors, etc.) in accordance with UL/IEC standards Thorough knowledge on behavior of light with various combination of optics (e.g. diffused lens, reflectors, etc. ) Expertise in design calculations Competitors watch through study, tear down, testing to ensure our products are innovative, first in market and economical (Drive innovation through self and others) Process management – Best practices for simulations and benchmarking Handling project with lead responsibility and deliver on time and on quality; Work on complex programs or multiple products simultaneously Utilizing Synergy across different engineering disciplines and integration (Optical, Thermal, Hardware and IoT) Grooming and mentoring team members technically on Optical engineering Innovative approach to optimize the solution and digitization Creation of VAVE focus area (related to optical components such as lens reflector); Contribute to Cost out challenges Engagement with PLM and Sales force and reach customers to educate and learn the application Technical Learnings. Experience with design tools: Solidworks 3D modelling, analysis, MathCAD, SAP/Enovia. Utilize the EIIC lab and also local eco system to drive product testing to build capability and enhance product knowledge Hands-on experience with designing LED luminaires Experience troubleshooting and resolving product test noncompliance issues Experience with product certification, specifically UL or equivalent certifications Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical engineering and integration of components Develop Quickly prototype of products for proof-of-concept study Develop and execute robust test plans Problem solver by using DFX & DFSS approach Qualifications Masters Degree on Optical Engineering or Equivalent Masters in Optical Engineering with minimum 10 years of Industrial Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in new product launching in OEM " Ability to design product platforms with modular and rationalized design approach Expert in Optical engineering product design for Industrial and commercial luminaires Experience in Optical Analysis tool (e.g. AGI 32, TracePro etc) Expert in LED selection for various industrial applications Thorough knowledge of various optical materials used in luminaires (e.g. Glass, polymers, reflectors, etc.) in accordance with UL/IEC standards Thorough knowledge on behavior of light with various combination of optics (e.g. diffused lens, reflectors, etc. ) Expertise in design calculations Communication skills, Drive for result, Accountability, Innovation, Leadership Attributes Yes!
