Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Create, edit, optimize realistic 3D environments
- Create structures, terrain, props from photo reference and concepts
- Partner with design team to support gameplay, narrative elements and objectives
- Communicate with Art Director and project manager to understand task requirements
- Estimate time requirements for tasks, and help generate a schedule of work for team members
- Self sufficient and able to delegate tasks where necessary
- Carry out art reviews and provide feedback to team members, ensure artwork from team reaches quality bar, and delivered on time.
- Check daily work according to schedule and share with Producer about risks and propose solutions
Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge in a 3D modeling software such and Maya or 3DSMax
- Strong sense of scene composition
- UE4 or other engine experience
- Understanding PBR work flow
- Through understanding of how environments affect gameplay
- Superior eye for lighting, color and detail
- Work within the technical limitations of a variety of game engines
- Create high quality textures in Substance and Photoshop
- Ability to find solutions from a visual, production and technical perspective
- Passion for pushing asset fidelity and refining production techniques
- High degree of self-motivation and initiative
- Strong planning and prioritization skills
- Good communicator
- 2 years experience leading/mentoring
- At least 1 AAA title as a lead is a plus
