Eaton manufactures 3-phase UPS devices and battery energy storage solutions for the EMEA market at our facility in Espoo. In addition to traditional UPSs we develop energy storage and hybrid UPS solutions. The future trend for UPSs is to be a part of the grid and support usage of renewable energy. We are looking for an experienced Lead Firmware Engineer to join our Firmware Development Team. This role will be responsible for creating and helping maintain new code for the next generation of Eaton UPS devices. Your key deliverables: Acting as a technical lead of the FW team Coaching and mentoring your colleagues Supporting R&D management in FW development Developing and maintaining multiple modular products and solving problems down from hardware level to user interface design Defining firmware architecture as well as developing code and testing it in our high power (MW-scale) electronics laboratory Participating in reviewing and planning features There is some room to tailor the content of the role according to your skills and wishes, e.g. an option for you to take team leadership. Required: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering • Experience in embedded systems • Experience with programming in C and C++ • Interest in electronics and coding • Experience in writing tests • Proficiency in English • Good problem solving skills • You are self-driven Desired: • Knowledge of power electronics • Knowledge of control systems and algorithms • Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, Modbus • Knowledge of object oriented programming concepts • Knowledge of Python or other scripting language • Knowledge of programming in embedded Linux environment • Knowledge of agile methodologies • Experience in defining software architecture We would like to hear about you!
