More information is available at: www.siemens-healthineers.ca Under the supervision of the Manager, maintenance; the Lead Equipment Technician’s primary responsibility is to support the operations in card production by organizing the equipment technicians to ensure technical support of equipment. The Lead Equipment Technician will be the principal point of contact for the Operations Shift Manager and Manufacturing Shift Supervisors for equipment related issues. The Lead Tech will organize the Equipment Technicians on his shift to meet the needs of the production schedule and maintain communication with the OSM on technical issues. Duties and Responsibilities Provide support to supervisors and operators with regards to technical or process issues Dispatch Equipment Technicians to solve equipment problems and organize technicians to complete planned maintenance Provide advanced knowledge to help in the troubleshooting and repair of the automation equipment Be responsible for ensuring the shift technicians perform repairs and maintenance with documented procedures, and to ensure all safety requirements are followed Assist with daily manufacturing operations in the manufacturing facility Ensure maintenance and shift records are completed and up-to-date Provide on-call support for their same day off-shift technicians Note: Duties are not limited to those listed above. Key Contacts Reports directly to Manager, Maintenance Job Demands The Lead Tech is required to work under stressful circumstances where equipment downtime and yield issues are costly. There are varying levels of technical support through a 24/7 operation and the Lead Tech is the responsible technical person with respect to equipment problems. Flexibility to work overtime and on different shifts as required Noisy and fast-paced manufacturing environment Good organization skills Effective knowledge of the automation equipment and processes at Epocal Excellent communication skills Efficient troubleshooting skills Computer skills and knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel software Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment while satisfying personal responsibilities Ready to speak up about concerns Physical Manual dexterity Ability to distinguish between colours Extended periods of standing and walking Occasional kneeling and crouching Skills & Qualifications (Education and Experience) At least 2-year Technical Diploma and/or an acceptable combination of education and experience acceptable to Epocal Mechanical and/or automation aptitude toward equipment troubleshooting and root cause analysis is considered as key asset Familiarity with operation, assembly, and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment Experience working in a medical device manufacturing or electronic manufacturing setting is considered an asset Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Ability to effectively accomplish diverse skilled work in the repair and maintenance of high speed automation equipment. Effectiveness in prioritizing assigned duties by the Technician Supervisor or Equipment Support Manager and evaluating the completed work of personnel. Assist the Technician Manager/Supervisor in scheduling work and determining needs for equipment and supplies. Outstanding skills for offering training and leadership to staff in the completion of technical duties. Ability to ensure that all operations are performed safely and efficiently. Assure compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures.
