Job Description
Eaton’s Bussmann division is currently seeking a Senior Production Planner to join our team. This position is based at our Juarez facility. The Lead Material Flow Expert is responsible for the definition, deployment, and maintenance of the material flow strategies across Bussmann Juarez facility, through effective leadership of team members in logistics, receiving, warehouse, production, and shipping. By applying Lean /Six Sigma tools to take Eaton’s materials management processes to a World Class level. It has full responsibility to support inventory accuracy and material management. Primarily a strategic position, the Lead Material Flow Expert directly supports key strategic objectives by leading and directing the business process to provide high customer satisfaction while meeting or exceeding internal business unit goals and objectives. In this role, you will: Ensure cross functional (Plant Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Material Handling) aligned assumptions, layouts, and timing for kitting applications Lead implementation of Global Material Flow Strategy (forklift free, kitting, floor space optimization, & third-party cost minimization) implementation for the factory. Responsible for delivering kitting solutions to material flow challenges including containerization, kit cell layout, kit flow plan, kit delivery and IT requirements. Present kitting concepts and designs to internal customers and executive audiences to convincingly explain need, innovation, and business case. Manages product flow from stock, through quality inspection, with delivery to the shipping department. Supervises daily workflow of material handling operations. Design and implement a world class inventory management system that seamlessly integrates with the Lean Manufacturing process. Provide necessary leadership and training to build and maintain a strong inventory management team. Writes and maintains departmental work instructions and maintains departmental training documentation. Interfaces with other plant departments as required maintaining inventory accuracy and optimizing material flow. Works with production planners with Kanban systems, consignment programs and cycle counts. Remove material flow constraints through long-term sustainable corrective actions and solutions. Develop effective KPI s to measure and improve team s performance. Participate and Lead Kaizen improvement projects. Performs miscellaneous related duties and carries out special projects as assigned. Comply with the procedures, work instructions and work regulations of the different management systems (ISO9001, ISO14001, IATF16946, CTPAT, OEA and those that the company registers) Incumbent in accordance with the established manuals and guarantee compliance with the registers of legal, quality, environment, health and safety regulations, OEA, CTPAT, etc. within the company Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar position. Working knowledge of MRP systems, just in time concepts and respective production processes Knowledge of basic planning tools (JIT; Kanban safety stocks, level loading, etc.). Inventory Management Knowledge is needed (Kanban, Kitting, Fix locations, PFEP, Material Presentation, etc.) Bilingual -Spanish / English Basic Quality Systems knowledge is required.
