Job Description
Eaton’s Electrical Sector is hiring for Lead- Pack Center on 1st Shift. This position is based at our Dallas, TX distribution center. This is a planning position requiring an individual to directly set the day-to-day activities of packaging employees to ensure that they maintain the required customer demand and forecast. Position Responsibilities: Plans and releases an assigned group of commodities of purchased material. Assists the Pack Center supervisor in achieving department objectives in scheduling and inventory levels. Implementing inventory, planning and production scheduling consistent with the materials manufacturing philosophy of the plant. Report out on material shortages to appropriate procurement teams. The incumbent of this position will be a working lead planner and therefore become a Packer when necessary. The incumbent will be responsible for: Planning inventory levels of an assigned group of production materials. Designing inventory systems consistent with materials manufacturing philosophy to ensure zero material downtime and optimal inventory levels. Performing necessary follow-up and expediting activities. Keeping plant inventories of parts at established levels through cycle counting programs, location audits or other practices as applicable. Ensuring optimal space utilization. Developing, publishing and controling build schedule for manufacturing floor per material availability. Following orders through the shop to maintain production/shipping schedule. Executing data coding to maintain integrity in ERP and order management system. Issue and follow up on orders with quantity changes, cancellations, re-schedules, and priority items. Maintaining policy codes, safety stock levels, lead times and other necessary production records maintained on the database. Assigning promises to job orders when requested and follows progress through completion so that dates are met. Reviewing availability of components and raw material to manufacture current and future orders. Assisting in identifying and clearing difficulties and delays on the shop floor. Recommending alternative action to be taken in events of failure to meet the schedules. Adhering to all facility safety guidelines and identifies potential hazards to reduce or eliminate them. Qualifications Position Criteria: Strong computer skills to include WMS, SAP, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to learn on the job, adapt to changes and become proficient quickly. Position requires high level of concentration, close attention to details. Must exercise discretion and judgment. Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution. Minimum of one year experience in a distribution center environment Must reside within a fifty-mile radius of Eaton’s facility in Dallas, TX. Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
