As a Power Electronics Engineer you will develop innovative solutions for our products at the Eaton European Innovation Center in Prague (EEIC), Czech Republic. You will be responsible for simulations, designing, developing and testing of power circuits, focused mostly on power electronics, analog and digital circuits and gate driver design. You will be a member of the global Eaton Research Labs (ERL) team and will report to the ERL Regional Technology Manager located in EEIC. Your key deliverables : R&D role - leads power electronics and power systems projects for design and development and demonstrates TRL1-5 ownership for the assigned project and task; performs modeling, simulation, PE and PCB design and validations of power electronics and electronics circuits Self-studying approach needed, mentors and motivates colleagues Collects and analyzes data and information to optimize the design to meet requirements in performance, size, manufacturability, reliability and costs Research and design in power systems (hybrid AC/DC), for control protocols, protection strategy and reconfiguration Creates technical reports and presentations Collaborates with power electronics, mechanical, thermal, and firmware engineers to successfully design and validate the design; collaborates with external sub suppliers Stays current with the latest power electronics, PCB and electronics circuit technologies and applies knowledge to power conversion and protection applications. Qualifications Required: Master´s degree in electrical engineering Minimum 8 years of experience in power electronics and electronics design Experience in Power Systems design, modeling, simulation and measurements Skills in modeling and simulation using such tools as Matlab/Simulink, Plecs, Altium Designer, Eagle, Spice Strong understanding of circuit theory, containing power electronics Communication-focused with good relationship building and communication skills Ability to demonstrate problem solving using logic and methods to tackle diverse problems Willing to learn new skills, knowledge, industry, or products Fluent in oral and written English Desired: Ph.D. in electrical engineering or equivalent.
