Eaton Innovation Centre in Prague has an opening for: Lead Engineer - Power Electronics Location: Prague Primary function: Eaton is looking for a Specialist Engineer - Power Electronics to develop innovative solutions for our products at the Eaton European Innovation Center in Prague (EEIC), Czech Republic. This individual will be responsible for simulations, designing, developing and testing of power circuits, focused mostly on power electronics, analog and digital circuits and gate driver design. The individual will be a member of the global Eaton Research Labs (ERL) team and will report to the ERL Regional Technology Manager located in EEIC Further broader goals/responsibilities for this role are: R&D role - leads power electronics and power systems projects for design and development and demonstrates TRL1-5 ownership for the assigned project and task; performs modelling, simulation, PE and PCB design and validations of power electronics and electronics circuits Self-studying approach needed, mentors and motivates colleagues Collects and analyses data and information to optimize the design to meet requirements in performance, size, manufacturability, reliability, and costs Research and design in power systems (hybrid AC/DC), for control protocols, protection strategy and reconfiguration. Creates technical reports and presentations Collaborates with power electronics, mechanical, thermal, and firmware engineers to successfully design and validate the design; collaborates with external sub suppliers Stays current with the latest power electronics, PCB and electronics circuit technologies and applies knowledge to power conversion and protection applications.
