Eaton’s Electrical Division has an opening for a Lead Quality Technician. The position is located at the Cleveland, TN facility.
Position Overview:
The Lead Quality Technician provides quality support to the Cleveland, TN site. Individual is accountable for executing various aspects of the Cleveland Quality Management System and the Eaton Quality Management System. This position is also expected to support activities to drive improvement to key metrics and to customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be able to support a wide variety of quality inspections and able to perform data analysist in support of the quality function, driving continuous improvement of the quality processes.

In this function you will:
- Understand and follow established job specific and site wide health, safety procedures and rules in accordance with Eaton’s MESH Program.
- Assist in EQS Calendar Maintenance by owning the scheduling and assignment of Measurement Systems Analysis and Capability Study Completion.
- Lead and Train the shop floor and quality team in the use of problem solving tools and quality processes.
- Lead Continuous Improvement Function (CIF), deployment by completing and Identifying potential process checks: Co-leading the Quality Function Tier Meeting.
- Provide warranty support for major issues, including but limited to filed rework, in-house repair, High Severity Customer Quality Escape activities, and customer specific Issue resolution in addition to completing Warranty trend Analysis to identify Corrective And preventive Actions.
- Support Supplier Quality as needed by Performing dimensional and material analysis of purchased and manufactured parts/materials.
- Support Manufacturing quality as needed by utilizing statistical tools and Minitab to perform Pareto analysis, capability studies and MSA’s. Make decisions for acceptable quality within prescribed parameters for parts or assemblies, Utilizing the calibration system to ensure that measuring instruments and tools are appropriately tracked and verified.
- Support Customer Quality and Problems solving by: interacting with customers and Eaton warranty systems to administer product warranty claims to resolve issues to customer satisfaction
- Initiating and using the Customer Quality Management (CQM) system for tracking quality issues to closure, Utilizing Problem solving Methodologies including 8D, 5 Why, and pFMEA;s to address internal and external quality issues.
- Build Organizational Capability by: Developing Quality Team Standard Work, Control plans, Inspections plans and Quality notices for the shop Floor.
- Support Quality Systems by: Possessing a working knowledge of and complying with all applicable ISO 9001 and EQS procedures, participating in audits and assessments. Conducting product and process system audits, and serve as a ISO 9001 Internal Auditor as needed.
- Select and utilize measuring equipment to conduct performance and dimensional verifications efforts including a wide variety of precision measuring instruments.

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution required.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates who currently reside within a 50-mile radius of the Cleveland TN facility will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Ten years’ experience in quality (in a manufacturing facility)
- In depth knowledge of safety switch field application, fabrication processes and assembly process
Position Success Criteria:
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Knowledge of computer systems (Mapics, Matrix, intranet, Excel, Word).
- Working knowledge of EQMS tools that pertain to job classification.
- One to three years knowledge of products and application of techniques of precision measurement principles relating to overall plant operations in assembly, receiving and all manufacturing fabrication departments
- Quality Management System knowledge: ability to interpret, follow, and audit procedures
- Computer skills: Microsoft Excel and Access, Vista, Powelink/MAPICS
