[Appointment period: twenty-four months initially; with possibility of further appointment]
Duties
The appointee will report to the Programme Leader and assist in the research projects – “Sharable knowledge database”, “Integrity of sensor data” and “Data Visualization and modelling for processes, products and systems”. He/she will be required to:
(a) manage and lead a team of engineers and data scientists;
(b) develop and deploy an end-to-end data analytics platform using machine (deep) learning for the centre’s partners;
(c) interact with the industry partners to understand their needs and requirements; and
(d) perform any other duties as assigned by the Centre Director or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a master’s degree, preferably with a doctoral degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Statistics or a relevant discipline,;
(b) at least five years of experience in end-to-end machine learning systems, including data processing, feature engineering and tuning of machine learning models in training and production, with both structured and unstructured data;
(c) at least five years of management experience in leading a team with at least five members;
(d) solid understanding of common statistical and machine learning techniques, both classical machine learning and deep learning;
(e) skills in deep learning frameworks (e.g., Tensorflow, PyTorch, Caffe, MxNet) and major programming languages (e.g. C/C++, Python, R);
(f) experience in application development practices;
(g) experience in working on big data pipelines and cloud solutions;
(h) ability to work independently and be a good team player to take initiative and lead engagement; and
(i) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
Remuneration
