Participates in the development of, and implements and maintains plans to ensure continuation of critical operations in the event of a disaster or extended interruption of information processing services. Coordinates activities required in the disaster recovery process. Manages the process to develop recovery tasks to simulate the steps necessary to build out an operating system and associated software required to support the computer processing necessary to sustain the business. Manages expenditures for voice and data network lines related to disaster recovery. Identifies any existing policies and procedures needing to be revised or retired. Coordinates the development of new policies and procedures for contingency planning and recovery simulation testing. Evaluates and selects disaster recovery tools, equipment and alternative recovery sites. Assists in the development of contractual agreements with recovery vendors for all entities of the corporation. Develops disaster recovery scenarios and contingency plans for central distributed systems and networks and locations remote to the corporate headquarters. Coordinates all activities during disaster recovery testing or in the event of an actual disaster. Builds the project management database to track progress of the each project. Presides over planning meetings for platform recovery. Contributes to the achievement of related teams' objectives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience required. 4-6 years of experience in business/disaster recovery required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
