Job Description
Summary:
- Responsible for the administrative and operational management of the Category Customer Marketing Team deployed for the Greater China Cluster
- Partner with Marketing and Sales in the timely execution of category specific platform driven commercialization and Base/Expand initiatives
- Jointly with the CM Manager, Director, Cluster GM, select & prioritize customer marketing initiatives to be deployed across cluster markets, based on local knowledge, and monitor consistency of local execution
- Deliver efficiency through scale and harmonization of materials across cluster
- Maintain responsibility for category execution in cluster lead market
- Develop Cluster Customer Marketing Team in both skills and capabilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Shopper
- Adapt global brand stories and Big Ideas into high impact shopper campaigns with agency partners as part of MEDIA to SHELF
- Owns and writes Client to Agency briefs to Shopper Agency
- Propose and conduct Category specific shopper studies, applicable preferably to the Cluster, and Country specific where appropriate, and cascade study synopsis, learnings, implications and action plans to address opportunities
- Develop instore and digital shopper toolkits for implementation, Communicate and align with Sales on execution scope and targets. (Channels, Store numbers, geographies, Resources, promotion budget)
- Consolidate execution progress and facilitate Management Committee reviews
Sales and Operation (SOP)
- Attend Step 1 meetings to highlight special topics and align on growth drivers
- Accountable for special pack and promotional stock inventory offtake and resourcing
- Provides shipment analysis
- Bridge Step 1 output to Step 2 meetings
Promotion & Activity Budget Management
- Efficient allocation of relevant promotion by activity and securing sales commitment for execution targets and scope
- Tracks sales execution for learning and agile adjustments
- Monitor pacing and true-up
- Alert finance and Man Comm of misalignment
DMPP (Display Merchandising Price Promotion)
- Gives sales operation picture of excellence in store
- Create standards of execution by channel and store segmentation
- Designs brand merchandising
- Determines Promotion Price thresholds
New Product Development and Category specific projects
- Ensure Trade Bundles developed by the Platform are appropriately adopted/adapted by the Cluster, and implementation plans are prioritized, resources fairly and optimally allocated, and implementation monitored
- Provides feedback, inputs to Platform as to what works best for the Cluster
- Channel and Customer Support
- Provide support to the Sales Team in the development and presentation of Joint Business Plan with major Global/Regional customers
- Develop plans designed to optimize roll-out of channel strategies across markets, and ensure excellent execution of all plans for designated channels aligned with Platform directions
Processes
- Supports Cluster GM in key areas like selection of projects, initiatives, prioritization and allocation of resources (promotions, mix component of trade spend, etc.), across Cluster Members and Categories.
- Responsible for the development and securing sign-off of FOCO plans in line with Corplan
- Partner with Finance, M&C in the development of price increase recommendation in line with DPM and Pricing Strategy
Administrative/Support Services/Capability Building
- Develops appropriate tracking process, and scorecards to monitor distribution performance, competitive activities, trade sales
- Supports Sales in developing action plans based on Advantage Survey results, and monitors execution
- Assess Customer Marketing training and skills needs; cascade and put in practice learnings
- Leads development of skills enhancement plans for entire cluster customer marketing team
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies
- Should have multi-functional experience in Customer Marketing, and either in Sales and/or Marketing, at least 3 years each in a Marketing & Commercialization and a Sales role
- Bachelor’s degree and above
Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies
- Knowledge of the Categories, pertinent Key Customers, and key Competitive set
- Strong management and leadership skills
- Proven track record of delivering objectives consistently
- Strategic mind set, understands the strategic & tactical nature of the business.
- Clear understanding of the different channel Go-To-Market principles/strategies, structures - SSS, Wholesale, Distributor, and Club.
- Understands SC Johnson’s processes, and the interplay between the categories
