Eaton’s Electrical North American Sales division is currently seeking a Lead Sales Engineer to join our team. This position is based in Pleasanton, CA. Relocation assistance will be provided if residing outside of 50 miles of this location. Position Overview: Eaton’s North American Electrical Sales division is currently seeking a Lead Sales Engineer to join our team. This position will be based from a home office in Northern CA, or from the Eaton office in Pleasanton, CA. The Lead Sales Engineer is responsible for representing “One Eaton” to their assigned Industrial Accounts and develop key customer relationships to achieve customer specific goals. This position is responsible for the customer relationship, identifying new growth opportunities, and is the primary point of contact for the assigned customers. As the primary strategic customer interface, this position takes the lead in driving accelerated profitable growth aligned with an action-based sales plan for the assigned accounts. This position will be responsible for developing a keen understanding of the assigned accounts’ business needs and drivers, decision making process, and buying behavior. This role will be responsible for selling Eaton’s portfolio of products and services to effectively support the energy transition activities within the Northern California industrial market. In this function you will: Provide accurate and timely planning and specification interpretation, quotation, and technical support Communicate with customers, and product lines to facilitate problem resolution Collect, analyze, and utilize market intelligence regarding competitive products, customer needs, preferences, and buying habits Review and interpret customer needs on plans and specifications Provide timely solutions to customer issues by utilizing available resources or creating procedure for resolution. Awareness of and responsiveness to market conditions and competitive activities while communicating such information to product divisions Provide specific Voice of Customer feedback to appropriate product and service business leaders – for future product development, quality, modification, customer satisfaction, and drive new product introductions Prepare and present bids and quotations to customers using company price and delivery guidelines while using sound business judgment. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Minimum 3 years’ sales experience within electrical industry Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license Relocation assistance will be provided if residing outside 50 miles of this location. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Position Criteria: Strong professional presence. Ability to effectively manage difficult negotiations and other conflicts. Knowledge of key customers within sales territories Time management, presentation, and planning skills Commands knowledge of Eaton Electrical product and service capabilities and can assemble standard offerings to meet customer needs with occasional internal oversight Ability to leverage support personnel to meet customer and organizational needs Skilled in BidManager and Vista Demonstrate an understanding of market trends, industry issues and knowledge of competitors Ability to communicate effectively with all organizational levels Background and knowledge of electrical solutions within the industry Ability to develop, articulate, and execute a compelling value proposition and strategy.
