Eaton’s North American Electrical Sales division is currently seeking a Lead Sales Engineer to join our team. This position can be located Nashville, TN and covers the sales territories in the Greater Nashville and Memphis, TN locations. Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates residing outside of 50 miles from this location.
Position Overview:
Primary responsibilities include achieving assigned sales quote through the technical marketing and sale of Eaton Data
Center Segment products (primarily Uninterruptable Power Supply Systems – single and three phase and associated
equipment) - to Specifying Consultants, Architects, Design Build Electrical Contractors, and End Users. These products
are sold directly and through our distribution channel. The position requires the ability to proactively target projects
in the design stage through developing and/or leveraging industry relationships in an effort to position Eaton as a
preferred product in specifications and drawings. Must demonstrate and deliver exceptional customer service, technical
competencies, and ability to network and within the industry. Focus of this role is solution selling; incumbent must facilitate
collaboration/sharing across Eaton to drive growth of the entire Eaton portfolio.

In this function you will:
- Demonstrate accurate and timely planning and specification interpretation, quotation, and technical support;
- Communicate with customers, warehouse, and plants to facilitate problem resolution;
- Collect, analyze, and utilize market intelligence regarding competitive products, customer needs, preferences, and buying habits;
- Review and interpret customer needs on plans and specifications;
- Provide timely solutions to customer issues by utilizing available resources or creating procedure for resolution;
- Have awareness of and responsiveness to market conditions and competitive activities while communicating such information to product divisions;
- Plan promotional events and presentations with distributor personnel to promote Eaton’s position, while developing a proven record of achieving assigned sales goals
- Prepare and present bids and quotations to customers using company price and delivery guidelines while using sound business judgment.
- Effectively represent Eaton Data Center segment products and solutions in the market from a technical and features position.
- Provide leadership and guidance, on the application of Eaton Mission Critical products and solutions.
- Provide a high level of confidence to cold call on call on perceptive end users and customers
- Perform account mapping and planning activities to drive Eaton growth initiatives at target accounts. In addition, ability to call on all levels of customer organization – engineering, maintenance, and ‘C’ level.
- Provide technical product presentations
- Provide in-house product demonstrations for sales prospects
- Provide internal project management as needed in support of projects
- Sales forecasting, budget and quota responsibilities

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in electrical sales
- Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
- Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Knowledge of Data Centers, specifically UPS systems, low voltage distribution gear, ATS, transformers, standby generators, power monitoring and metering
- Electrical systems application and configuration knowledge and experience
Position Criteria:
- Knowledge of key customers within sales territories
- Time management, presentation, and planning skills
- Commands knowledge of Eaton Electrical product and service capabilities and can assemble standard offerings to meet customer needs with occasional internal oversight
- Possesses an understanding of the sales process using sales techniques as evidenced by good customer relationships
- Demonstrate an understanding of market trends, industry issues and knowledge of competitors
- Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Ability to leverage support personnel to meet customer and organizational needs
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in addition to strong organizational skills
- Proven organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and balance workload
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Products
- Must be able to travel domestically 50% of the time
