Eaton Corporation’s Digital Office (EDO) is currently seeking a Lead Software Engineer, Industrial Software Solutions to join our organization! This position is based at our Moon Township, PA facility and has flexibility for remote work for candidates living more than 50 miles outside of Moon Township, PA. As a Lead Software Engineer, Industrial Software Solutions, you will be part of our architectural leadership team within our Brightlayer digital platform responsible for setting the strategic technical direction and defining the principles that shape our software development and technology adoption practices. As a leader in the software engineering organization, you will be responsible for building a culture that inspires technical experimentation and empowers our development teams to make sound technical and architectural decisions. In this role you will: Perform requirements analysis and design for systems spanning the Brightlayer Industrial Monitoring software product. Partner with various business stakeholders and technology leaders to translate program requirements into technical solutions and system designs. Document and communicate designs, estimates, and implementation plans to program stakeholders. Collaborate with other members of architects, developers, and technical leads, to evaluate solutions and gain consensus on technical direction. Research, design, test, and evaluate new technologies and vendor solutions. Evaluate business requirements to determine potential solutions. Minimum of 10 years of experience in the software industry. Minimum of 8 years of experience developing enterprise grade highly scalable web-based applications and/or distributed systems. Hands-on experience in designing high-performance REST-based services Hands-on experience on .Net Core libraries and Frameworks Hands-on experience in Microsoft technologies – ASP.NET Core, Web API, .NET Core 3.0+, C# Experience in developing applications with Azure Cloud Services (Web App Service, App Gateway, APIM, Storage, Azure Function, Key Vault, App Config, & App Insight) Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent from an accredited institution. Position Criteria: Ability to travel up to 10% internationally and domestically. Excellent object-oriented design and programming skills, including the use of design patterns. Experience with web application frameworks. Extensive experience utilizing best practices in software engineering. Experience in an Agile design methodology. Utilization of best practices in software engineering. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain technical concepts. Strong problem solving and reasoning ability, exhibiting technical innovation and creative solutions. Abreast of upcoming software development/engineering tools, trends, and methodologies. Good judgment, time management, and decision-making skills. Ability to estimate implementation efforts for small to mid-size projects and plan development tasks. Strong design, coding and debugging skills is a must-have. Independently do the low-level technical design for a feature. Working knowledge of Microsoft design patterns, SOLID principles, development best practices. Experience developing highly scalable data-driven, near real-time applications. Proven record in software development process improvement. Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices.
