As the Lead Software Engineer, you will report to the Software Engineering Manager and continuously collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to solve the most critical technical problems. You Will Champion code quality, reusability, scalability security, and strategic software architecture decisions Utilize proven design patterns and your experience building large scale public-facing software through code reviews and mentorship Collaborate with Software Architects, Product, and Project Management to take small ideas or concepts and turn them into high fidelity technical game plans and achieve the products and business goals Care about who you work with and how work is done. Relate to our core values (see below) and would like to contribute to a positive working environment and culture Qualifications Required Experience & Technical Skills At least 8+ years as a Software Engineer and 4+ years experience as a technical lead for 4+ Engineers 4+ years architecting, implementing, and integrating modern payment systems (Stripe, Ayden, etc.) and features (payments, recurring subscriptions, point of sales) Adept at drafting, validating, and implementing software systems architecture using modern development and deployment technologies and can speak thoroughly to their tradeoffs Strong familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and design patterns Strong experience using NodeJS and JavaScript (TypeScript) using Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, Serverless, Lambda, Docker, and Kubernetes on AWS Proficient with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB and understand when to use relational and non-relational databases. A proponent of code testing (TDD, unit, integration, system, load, and functional tests) Experience working with DevOps Engineers using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and CI/CD Pipelines.
