Position Overview: The Tool and Die Designer is responsible for creation of tool design specification sheets, BOM’s, drawings, 3D data and participate in tool design reviews. In this role you will: Receive, understand, and follow all written and oral instructions Design tools, within specified time frames, to company standards Works with the tool room to debug tools and keep files up to date Must be able to interpret blueprints in order to verify conformance of parts to prints using measuring instruments Education/training in tool design. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with coworkers and management. Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Mechanical aptitude must be strong to assess the viability of complex part interrelations in a complete tool assembly model. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Certified Journeyman Tool and Die Maker Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Tool & Die Design/as a Tool and Die Maker Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship No relocation is available for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Carol Stream, IL facility will be considered Preferred Qualifications: Experienced in solid modeling. NX with Progressive Die Wizard preferred. Prior experience in a manufacturing or assembly operation preferred Position Criteria: The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds. Noise level in plant is moderate. Hear protection required posted areas.
