Position Description: We are looking for a Test engineer with a solid background in server test strategies for a position in Lenovo’s DCG Product Assurance team. The role will require experience with new feature validation, RAS testing, error injection, using test scripts and automation, data capture, as well as training experience. This role will work closely with both the development and PA teams in order to lead test execution efforts in validation of new ThinkSystem servers and FW functions. Responsibilities will include leading and execution of test plans, defect discovery and documentation, debug efforts, test plan reviews / creation, and training new execution engineers. Applicants must have a strong background in UEFI, systems management features, networking, or external storage. Experience should encompass several of the following: error injection, compatibility testing, security testing, protocol level validation (I2C, IPMI, Redfish, SNMP, IPv4/6, FC, iSCSI, FCoE, etc.) good and negative pate testing. The role requires the ability to apply this knowledge to execute test plans and train new employees.  The candidate needs experience with new system validation, functional validation, defect debugging, directing daily activities, identifying and working blocking issues with the development teams. #### Position Requirements: Job responsibilities: • Provide validation leadership for Product Assurance validation efforts • Execution of test plans on Lenovo servers • Research and understand new functions • Review and develop test plans and test cases • Training of new team members • Identify automation opportunities and drive automation development activities • Gather / present status Skills / Qualifications: • Fluent English is required (Mandarin is also a plus) • 5+ years of test execution experience in server industry • Understanding of PA, development, unit test, and BBFV processes • Working knowledge of server OS’s (RedHat, SuSE, Windows, VMWare) • Understanding of servers, server HW, and server firmware (XCC/BMC and UEFI) • Ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities • Experience with some of the following technologies: • Enterprise level SW (Lenovo X-Clarity, HP OpenView, etc.) • Programming / scripting is a plus – primarily python • Networking (IPv6 / V4, Virtualization, InfiniBand, etc. • CPU / Memory compatibility testing We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any federal, state, or local protected class.
