SDL is seeking In-House Finnish Translators

We are looking for a Lead Translator to join our Finnish Language Office in Turku for a full-time permanent position. You will be responsible for delivering translations of the highest quality and accuracy on time and within budget. You will have the opportunity to act as Lead Translator for one or several accounts and to support the development of your translation team members.

Main Duties:
• Translation from English into Finnish
• Review work of other in-house and external translators
• Understanding and following SDL’s linguistic processes and procedures
• Understanding and following the specific processes of each client
• Producing quality translations within given deadlines
• Managing terminology effectively
• Using the translation tools
• Linguistic checking of Desktop Publishing output
• Linguistic testing of software, help and websites, if necessary
• Proofreading of documents, if necessary
• Providing full linguistic support for your colleagues
• Using the timesheet and work scheduling systems efficiently

Essential requirements:

• Native-level Finnish
• Degree in translation or any other relevant combination of training and experience
• 2-3 years translation experience
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure

Desirable requirements:

• Experience with translation of medical content
• Good knowledge of translation software such as Trados Studio 
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
