Eaton’s North American Sales Division is currently seeking a Lead Utility Sales Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Pleasanton, CA location. Relocation assistance will be offered. Position Overview: The primary responsibility of the Lead Utility Sales Engineer is to market and sell Eaton’s products and services to obtain orders that are profitable to Eaton in the Northern California and Nevada public power market. Must build relationships at all levels from engineers through Executive level. Manage all aspects of Eaton’s Utility business in assigned territory, including working with channel partners for maximum performance, creating and executing overall sales strategies, tailoring new product introductions, and customizing training plans for customer and channel partner personnel. In this function you will: Meet assigned revenue quota for accounts and grow overall share Manage channel partners, continuously assessing their performance to make sure revenue targets are met Introduce new products to assigned customer and partners, delivering our value propositions. Perform necessary training on products for customers Establish and maintain executive level relationships with customer, bringing in appropriate business unit personnel, as needed, to accomplish this Work internally with business unit personnel to communicate customer needs (be voice of customer) and assure that business unit is responding to customer requests Manage T&E budget to stay within assigned levels Maintain business opportunity pipeline in CRM tool Participate in focus groups and task forces from time to time as needed by Division or Manager When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution Minimum five (5) years of electrical industry sales experience Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Experience working with utilities & understands the structure of the industry Strong electrical industry sales experience Experience working with distributors Position Criteria: Ability to respond to a variety of challenging circumstances while continuing to demonstrate superior selling skills for important customer services and applications Electrical product knowledge Ability to provide technical solutions built around customer needs Skilled in time management Possess negotiating skills while understanding and using techniques needed to close orders Experience with preparing sales proposals that meet customer expectations Ability to travel up to 50% We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
