Through proven technical excellence, EIIC continues to augment Eaton’s leadership in improving existing products and services and developing new offerings. EIIC operates through its two state-of-the-art campuses located at Kharadi and Magarpatta City along with a world class 70000 Sq ft lab in Pune. Today, EIIC’s current research and technology efforts are focused on global trends that are driving our future including: energy systems, intelligent machines, advanced materials and additive manufacturing. EIIC is focused on augmenting Eaton’s vision of “improving the quality of life and environment through the use of intelligent power management technologies and services”. This position is responsible for leading and managing Direct Material Productivity (DMP) organization, and to provide leadership and direction that create significant cost out opportunities for diverse Eaton businesses working in close collaboration with the CTO Organization, Global SCM teams, Business Divisions, within Eaton. In addition, this leader will be the key partner that works very closely with the Global Procurement Organization & Continious Improvement function in corporate SCM . This high energy individual will be responsible for managing teams of engineers working on various aspects of Direct Material Productivity with the primary goal of identifying, developing, and maintaining services that deliver significant cost out opportunities, creating a robust pipeline of executable cost out projects, creating/supporting, Resiliency reated projects, and Support New product development The leader will be responsible for meeting the schedule, scope, cost and technical targets for all Direct Material Productivity efforts under his/her control, as well as developing and managing relationships with Eaton businesses leaders & stakeholders. • Leadership and Management of DMP teams for significant enhancement in Direct Material Cost out/avoidance performance. • Strategy & execution leadership for enhancing collaboration & synergy significantly with SCM, Business divisions, Marketing & Manufacturing Organizations. • Works in conjunction with the Global Procurement & Corporate Engineering functional excellence Lead to create an executable playbook around Design to Value at Eaton. • Develop a high performing, innovative, empowered and accountable culture across the DMP organization. • Collaborate with global Engineering, SCM, Marketing and manufacturing leaders to provide direction to identify market/technical trends and develop appropriate strategy to respond/lead those trends towards building the organizational capabilities for DMP. • Plan and monitor operational budget for DMP. • Ensure tight alignment with various business units processes/ initiatives across industrial and electrical sectors towards DMP. • Align project and portfolio strategy, design and develop current and new Eaton wide programs & projects and drive creation of and leveraging existing technological innovations in execution. Create and execute roadmap towards significant cost reductions. • Fully leverage digital and physical prototyping capabilities to driveDirect Material Productivity. Leverage the state-of-the art test labs & external echo system to accelerate Direct Material Productivity. • Articulate clearly expectations and progress to the executive team and various business stakeholders as well as with the internal teams. • Creates and fills a robust, and executable pipeline of Direct Material Productivity projects that will help drive improved cost performance, and move Eaton to the upper quartile of performance vs its peer group. • Build an organization that all of the businesses globally look to as a partner to help identify ideas and processes to reduce product costs and improve Eaton’s profitability. Qualifications Prefer Master’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Systems / Controls Engineering / Computer science or equivalent. 20+ years of engineering/technology development experience. 10 years of experience in leading people. Some experience of working in an international environment leading technology / innovation mgmt. Provide technical marketing strategies and communicate DMP strategy to various stakeholders • Possess strong business acumen and the ability to understand and formulate compelling value propositions and to understand and drive through value and adoption chain. • Creating, executing and communicating vision, strategy, structure, goals, processes and ensuring alignment with functional / locational / divisional priorities • Experience in leading projects with multiple stakeholders in matrix organization and strong project management experience is required. • Experience in effectively coaching and mentoring senior leaders/direct reports, • Experience in developing a high performing, empowered and accountable leadership team to support business growth and to build organizational capability • Possess a deep understanding of how culture and team dynamics create exceptional teams • Deep understanding of Eaton’s products, supply base, and of the Supply Chain function. Knows how to navigate through the SCM matrix, and how to engage the right leaders to get projects identified, and supported by each of the businesses.
