Job Description
Me to We seeks a dynamic individual to empower thousands of youth with positive messages of social justice and action, in one of the most exciting Metropolises in the world – Shanghai!

This position is to be filled by a passionate, organized and confident individual to act in both administrative and frontline roles for multiple youth leadership programs delivered through Me to We. Me to We Leadership programs use a youth-centered approach to character education, service learning and fostering global citizenship. Elementary, Junior and High school students actively listen to motivational speeches and participate in workshops to become leadership ambassadors, acquiring the skills and knowledge to engage their peers and communities with making the world a better place. We use experiential education teaching techniques that are fun to engage young people with social issues, leadership skills and action planning.

A minimum two-year commitment is required and housing allowance can be negotiated.
The position is based out of Me to We China ’s office in Shanghai (No. 555 Wuding Road, Jing'an, Shanghai).

Responsibilities:

- Developing many unique and inspiring leadership workshops, speeches and presentations pertaining to social action
- Speaking for approximately one hour at a time to as many as 500 people at a time
- Facilitating leadership workshops with 30 people for 2-6 hours at a time
- Knowledgeable about current local and global issues – ability to teach others about these issues
- Preparing, distributing and explaining materials (promotional, program, youth resources, and other)
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in accordance with Me to We’s safety policies and trip SOP while leading groups of 30 youth on international service trips overseas
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with youth, educators and parents using organizational CRM tools and constant contact follow-up
- Ability to engage youth and educators in Me to We programming (like Trips and Camp)
- Assisting with monitoring and evaluation procedures to measure program’s impact
- Educated on all Me to We youth programming opportunities, ability to engage youth, educators and parents in more Me to We opportunities
- Highly adaptable and flexible candidates are who are okay with schedules changing, working with multiple people to deliver quality programming

Skills and Qualifications:

Public Speaking Skills
- Ability to research, write and deliver speeches and presentations focused on social justice issues (local and global) and themes of youth empowerment and leadership.
- Candidates must be dynamic, engaging speakers and facilitators with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of people from different backgrounds and ages.
- Ability to use story telling or a skill set to connect youth to an altruistic lifestyle.

Excellent Facilitation Skills
- Ability to plan, create and deliver leadership focused workshops, where participants learn through experiential education techniques
- Ability to work well individually, in a partnership and within a team
- Charisma when working with youth, and a passion for youth leadership skill development
- Past experience working in Youth Programming such as: summer camp, afterschool programs, coaching sports, tutoring and/or teaching, involvement with post-secondary education student government, clubs, teams etc.

Knowledge of social justice issues
- A passionate interest in social justice issues and the motivation to continue their interests in learning more about social justice issues.

Engagement Skills
- Ability to build rapport with youth and educators and a variety of other stakeholders.
- Ability build an understanding of the different Me to We products and experiences and engage stakeholders in the these opportunities.

Administrative Skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities within tight deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

Positive, flexible and enthusiastic
- Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced and challenging work environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Open to a flexible work schedule
- Exercises good judgment when working with youth and is a positive role model for young people
