A Head of Legal opening has come up with an investment bank, where they are keen to take on a high calibre individual with at least 15+ Years' PQE to lead a team of over 10 legal professionals.

Our client is a leading investment bank with an excellent reputation in market as well as strong establishment in Asia over the past decade. They have global operations and with an exciting growth plan across Greater China region. Currently they are seeking for a Head of Legal to lead a well structured legal team of over 10 lawyers.

Description

• Responsible for the overall leadership, performance and management of the Legal function, with over 11 lawyers
• Works closely with relevant senior management and business heads to proactively manage and resolve conflicts, employee issues, client issues and any other adverse situations in the workplace. Key businesses includes IBD / Brokerage / FICC / Equities / Wealth Management / Asset Management.
• Leads the legal team in areas of litigation, arbitration, HR matters, corporate governance and reviewing of all commercial contracts (including, service level agreements, terms of business and IP and IT related documentation).
• Serves as key legal advisor on all major business transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures and other investments / transactions.
• Proactively communicates with local regulators, including SFC, MAS, FINRA and FSC regarding consultation papers, inspections and latest policies.
• Recommends, develops and implements all the legal and compliance global policies and procedures.

Profile

The successful candidate will possess at least 15 years' PQE, currently in a leadership role with significant experience gained with a sizeable financial institution. The ideal candidate will have good experience in leading an established team with senior lawyers, and with exposure in supporting multiple business. Those with strong exposure in supporting IBD / Brokerage businesses will have an advantage though this is not mandatory. Stable work experience preferred as is experience gained with reputable brands. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills required.
