Job Description

We are welcoming a Professional Learning & Development Specialist to our Global People Team who will be based in either China or Singapore and work hybrid from their home and the office.

Reporting to our Global Specialist in Organizational Coaching, you will work closely with our local HR Managers across APAC, our global team of HR Business Partners, and business leaders spread throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Your responsibilities will encompass identifying learning & development needs for colleagues in the APAC region, leading on a learning & development strategy for the region working closely with the Global Professional Learning & Organizational Development team, arranging training sessions within the region, and where necessary, delivering training to colleagues. We are seeking a professional who is comfortable facilitating sessions in both Mandarin and English.

As a member of the global PL&OD team, you will be the expert for the APAC region guiding on local needs to find solutions, provide on the ground support on all PL&LD initiatives, as well as having a solid understanding and comfort level with our learning management platforms: My Performance and My Development.

You will be committed to working in close collaboration with your PL&OD team members, with the confidence to work autonomously and take the lead for delivering the PL&OD strategy within the APAC region. As such, you have ambition to set strategies and implement them to make progress with the support of the PL&OD Vice President and the wider team, building close relationships with business leaders within the region to earn their respect, manage their expectations, and be a trusted partner to them. What you’ll be doing:

  • Working with the VP of PL&OD to support a Talent & Learning strategy to build and maintain organisational capability as a way to deliver on key business imperatives and goals
  • Engaging with colleagues to identify learning needs, raised to you directly by colleagues or through your own analysis of skills gaps and/or development opportunities, supporting colleagues with their ongoing personal and professional development
  • Delivering training sessions in both Mandarin and English for APAC regions, e.g China, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, etc.
  • Ensuring colleagues within their region engage with, and actively participate in, global PL&OD initiatives and programs
  • Gathering feedback and input from APAC colleagues to share with the global PL&OD team; ensuring colleagues are receiving the best quality learning and development experience in a way that is encouraging of, and tailored to, their needs and preferences
  • Partnering with the People Team, business directors and senior managers on the design, delivery and implementation of Organisational Development projects and processes in alignment with global L&OD strategy, where necessary
  • Engaging and handling external vendors or trainers to support design and delivery of talent and learning interventions, when needed; negotiating to ensure commercially acceptable terms and driving excellent return on investment
  • Supporting the PL&OD team in the continual management of all PL&OD learning management platforms, working in close partnership to ensure the platforms are fit for purpose
  • Supporting the HR Business Partners in the delivery of relevant employee engagement programmes and interventions to build a culture of high performance and employee well-being

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Fluency in both Mandarin and English languages, in verbal and written
  • Solid knowledge and tried experience of region’s culture, language, and customs
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent qualification, i.e. Organisational Psychology
  • In-depth knowledge of, and experience in, the design and delivery of Talent & Learning tools, models, processes and interventions
  • Ability to work both independently and with a wider team; develop and establish relationships with business leaders
  • Flexibility to work different hours dependent on where training sessions needs to be delivered
  • Strong training facilitation and influential skills in both Mandarin and English
  • Robust written and verbal communication skills
  • Multitasker who can work simultaneously on different projects with competing priorities
  • Experience in budget tracking and reporting
