Department of Linguistics and Modern Language Studies
The appointee will be responsible for teaching Japanese courses and introductory courses in general linguistics, as well as coordinating the minor programme in Japanese Studies. The appointee is expected to commence the appointment in August 2020. The initial appointment will be for a period of 12 months with the possibility of renewal subject to mutual agreement.
Applicants should have a Master’s degree, preferably in Japanese Teaching or teaching Japanese as a Second Language, Linguistics or a related discipline, with some relevant post-qualification teaching experience. Applicants should preferably possess a professional teaching certificate or equivalent, e.g. PGDE or qualification of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognized by the Education Bureau of Hong Kong. Proven evidence of quality teaching and/or successful records of relevant professional experience are required. Significant contributions to in-school curriculum development will be an advantage.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include leave and outpatient medical benefits.
