Job Description
As our Legal Assistant, translation services will be key to your role. You will be responsible for assisting the Legal Department with general legal and administrative matters, including translating and preparing important legal and business communications and participating in verbal contract negotiations with Smaato’s business partners in the People’s Republic of China. You will assist with internal administrative matters such as translating for shareholder meetings, between international teams, or with vendors that provide essential services to Smaato. In this role, you will work closely with both internal and client-facing teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Business Development.
What You’ll Do
- Translate written contracts for our Chinese business partners
- Work closely with our Legal Team to not only provide real time translation of verbal negotiations, but contribute as a key negotiator
- Directly communicate with key business partners
- Prepare legal correspondence and other documents
- Participate in shareholder meetings with Chinese stakeholders
- Build a trusted relationship with our partners and offer and ensure an open line of constant communication
- Clearly communicate with Smaato internal teams regarding communications with external business partners
- Provide written and verbal translation services to other teams as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree with legal focus (or international equivalent) or degree candidate in final year of study
- Business proficiency in English and Mandarin
- 1-3 years experience with legal writing and contract negotiations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
- Comfortable dealing with clients in a professional manner, including presentations and hosting conference calls
- Contract management experience, including familiarity with electronic signature platforms such as DocuSign
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
- Familiarity with digital ad tech is preferred
