This role is an assistant management/management role with primary focus on providing support to Legal team in Macau for all legal matters. This role’s other focuses would be to provide general legal services and support to those internal and external parties, as and when required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This role reports to Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Macau and will provide support to the Legal team in Macau and it involves working closely with Director, Corporate and Operations Counsel, in, among others, the following areas:
  • Preparation, negotiation, review and enforcement of commercial agreements and the resolution of legal issues;
  • Preparation, review, comment and finalisation of retail mall leases and operating agreements
  • Construction contract related matters;
  • Establishment of new entertainment, food and beverages and other venues in existing properties and properties under development;
  • Researching, reviewing and monitoring legal and legislative development;
  • Operational legal compliance;
  • Company secretarial and corporate maintenance

OTHER KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As the needs arise, this role will provide general legal services and support to the relevant internal and external parties, as and when required.

• Reviewing public disclosure materials including advertising and promotional materials;
• Work closely with commercial teams and business units related to review and preparation of agreements;
• Drafting and preparation of material contracts and standard terms of the business and documents applicable for use and regular review, update and enhancement of the current standard terms of business;
• Providing general legal advice to various business units in Macau in a wide range of legal matters.
  

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Legal qualifications from Macau and/or Portugal;
• A minimum of 4-5 years’ relevant experience;
• Experience gained from a reputable Macau or Portuguese law firm preferred;
• Keen sense of commercial awareness necessary;
• English language skills is essential;
• Previous in-house experience in legal department is an advantage;
• Chinese language skills is an advantage.
