You will be part of a very dynamic, international and growing Hub organization in the Legal department of Siemens Portugal. The Hub currently consists of 10 colleagues. The Hub serves various countries and businesses around the world, including Brightly. As this is still a new concept, you have the exciting opportunity to shape this promising concept for the future. Your job will be very diverse and interesting and offers the opportunity to get an excellent overview of what Siemens does. The different incoming tasks are distributed amongst the Hub team members according to their level of experience and skills. You will be the direct point of contact for the business colleagues in your area of responsibility and an integral part of the worldwide Brightly Legal team. You will support the business in commercial transactions, from the drafting process to contract execution. Requests include general commercial advise such as reviewing/ drafting/ negotiating contracts, preparing legal risk analyses for “Limits of Authority” internal approval processes and claim management. The main focus of the tasks will be the counselling of "Global Frame Agreements", which form the basis for the business with international top tier corporate customers and include product sales as well as project business. In addition, the job includes coordination with various Siemens units at management level and collaboration with Siemens regional entities. You will also conduct contract management training and contribute to new business models/concepts in the Global Agreement area. Most contracts and negotiations are in English language, as today’s Brightly business is located in the United Kingdom. However, as we grow in Europe, additional language fluencies will be helpful. German organizations prefer German as contract and negotiation language. If you are not fluent in German, these contracts might be taken over by another Hub team member. What will you be doing? Negotiate with prospective organizations about terms of use and mitigate the company’s risks. Clearly explain contract terminology to clients and other interested parties in simple, everyday language and scenarios. Frequently communicate key information to team members to empower them in their work. Serve as the escalation point for other Brightly legal team members to settle and mitigate negotiations within defined parameters. Create and manage repeatable template agreements and supporting documentation to support continuing growth and continuity for Brightly in line with its risk profile, compliance obligations and operation practices. Must be adept at-risk management; be sure that all third parties and vendors are assessed properly to be sure that contracts are fair, accurate and avoid disproportionate liability and costly legal disputes. Implement best practices and improve workflows in the contract management process where continual contract reporting is required. Embrace technology and automation – to streamline the overall practices and procedures of contract lifecycle management to simplify the contract management process, allow for scalability and changing compliance obligations. We are looking for: Fully qualified lawyer with excellent European academic credentials. Fluency in written and spoken English is a must (including ability to draft and negotiate contracts in both languages). Knowledge of German language and German law is a plus. Preferably you have been advising on German law and/ or you have studied German law. Basic communication skills in Portuguese are a plus. Experience of at least 5 years in the drafting/review/negotiation of contracts in a law firm or as part of an in-house legal team is essential. Experience working with public organizations or Crown Commercial Services contracts is a plus. Excellent negotiation skills in challenging environments and strong analytical and drafting skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills and excellent capabilities as a team player. High awareness of client satisfaction and strong ability to work with different cultures.
