As a Legal Counsel you will be reporting to the Region/Country Legal/Integrity Manager in Business Area – Legal & Integrity Function located in Shanghai, China.

Your responsibilities

• 1.report to the General Counsel of ABB China;
• 2.support the Local Business Area Motion, primarily the Shanghai Site of Motion in China, and the related functions as may be assigned and adjusted;
• 3.develop a good working relationship with local business units and local group functions he or she is responsible for;
• 4.draft and review contracts and agreements and provide comments and suggestions;
• 5.assist in negotiation of contracts for the business;
• 6.assist in project execution from a contract perspective as well as on general legal related issues;
• 7.support restructuring and liquidation of legal entities;
• 8.support corporate governance actions to maintain and update legal status of companies and branch offices;
• 9.support implementation of procurement process;
• 10.support resolutions of disputes;
• 11.analyze legal issues requested by local business division and related local group functions and provide general legal advice and support;
• 12.deliver legal training; and
• 13.be able to deal directly with internal clients and external parties.

Your background

• 1.Bachelor of Law degree from a reputable law school in China, and a Masters of Law or a Juris Doctor degree from a reputable law school abroad;
• 2.Bar admission, admission in both PR China and a foreign jurisdiction will be a plus;
• 3.More than 8 years post qualification experience practicing corporate law either as an associate at a reputable foreign or Chinese law firm or in a major MNC;
• 4.Fluent English and Chinese language skills.
