You’re an experienced Legal Knowledge Manager with significant experience working with commercial and corporate legal teams. At AstraZeneca, we’re looking for a Legal Knowledge Manager to support our Corporate Legal group.

This is a newly created role and as a member of the Corporate Legal group, you’ll support a team of transaction lawyers, focusing on delivering up-to date, high quality templates, guidance, training materials and other know-how, leveraging automation and other legal technology solutions.

We are looking for a talented knowledge manager to help AstraZeneca become a world leader in oncology, respiratory and inflammation and cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.  Your specialist expertise will be key to achieving this ambition.

Main duties and responsibilities

You will be accountable for the legal template resources and for providing broader knowledge management support to a team of lawyers across commercial and corporate practice areas. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to drive efficiencies across the Corporate Legal team by leveraging technology solutions and simplifying and automating legal templates and related guidance.

You will also drive and embed a culture of best practice sharing and continuous learning and improvement across Corporate Legal.

A key part of this role is maintaining visibility and engagement with the external knowledge management community (including law firms) to facilitate meaningful benchmarking and to take advantage of opportunities to further improve AZ’s approaches.

Essential requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with experience in legal drafting to support commercial and corporate legal groups
  • Experience and capabilities in knowledge management, including document repositories, automation, templates and training platforms
  • Expertise in legal technology solutions
  • Ability to drive a culture of information and best practice sharing and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence and motivate lawyers and other key stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker, able to work collaboratively across a large organisation and to create and implement consistent global processes
  • Knowledge of and experience with Legal Operations core competencies
  • Experience with Office 365 product suite, particularly Microsoft Word, OneNote, Outlook and SharePoint

Desirable requirements

  • Experience with iManage
  • Experience supporting Procurement groups
  • Experience with end-to-end contract lifecycle management, from sourcing and supplier selection through to supporting post contract management obligations
