This exciting role offers opportunity to: Help to direct and manage product development projects from beginning to end in collaboration with the responsible Tripp Lite Project manager and the responsible CM/ODM. Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with management and stakeholders (QA, Product Marketing, Technical Support, Marcom, and Production). Develop project schedule. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Track project milestones and deliverables. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. Prepare project status reports on a bi-weekly basis. Responsible for maintaining project documentation utilizing Tripp Lite project management and document control systems. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team. Assist Chicago based project managers by working with Asian CM’s / ODM’s during local business hours, to resolve high priority issues across all outstanding projects. Issues can range from product requirement clarification, schedule adherence, partner deliveries, to pricing and regulatory approval etc. This position reports to the Director of Project Management in Chicago. Qualifications Requirement: A technical degree with at least 3 years of experience in an engineering / manufacturing role. 3 years direct work experience in a project management or similar capacity, including all aspects of product development. Familiarity with project management software and Microsoft Office software tools. Knowledge of electrical design, mechanical engineering, materials, and manufacturing processes. Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential. Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including management, peers, and other departments. Ability to defuse tension among project team, should it arise. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to recognize risk in a project and offer recommendations in order to minimize effects on project targets. Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies. Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products. Both technical and commercial awareness. Prioritize issues, communicate reasoning and negotiate for resources when needed. Ability to build relationships from shop floor to management level, identify and clearly communicate key information and tailor the communication for the audience. Highly motivated to learn and adapt to fast-changing technologies and environments. An outgoing personality with the ability to work independently and constructively with others through differences of opinion. A willingness to participate in communication with Chicago team members during non-business hours. The place of work is China or Taiwan, at TrippLite’s CM or ODM manufacturing location. Visits to Chicago headquarters annually or as appropriate. Bilingual in English and Mandarin. Yes!
