Job Purpose:

The Licensing Coordinator role is a key part of the Licensing Department. This role will support the growth of the merchandise licensing program across brands and geographies.  He/She will be responsible for all activities related to the maintenance of current partners, the development of new ones and the global licensing agencies’ activities to deliver on licensing plan and vision.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Licensee/Licensor compliance
  • Work with finance to track payments, projections, forecasts, etc.
  • Manage COI requests for licensors and from licensees
  • Communications
    • Licensee monthly newsletter
    • Internal monthly newsletter
    • Project specific stakeholder communications (ex. mobile game development updates to local markets)
  • Agency Management
    • Day to day point person for global licensing agency Including review of deal memos and supporting documents for potential licensing partners.
  • Internal liaison
    • Day to day point person with internal teams to support licensees (Brands, Seasonal, Sales, Food team, local markets, Quality, Corporate Affairs, Responsible Marketing, etc.)
  • Manage PO’s & approve invoices (Ex: CTI, Annual Dues for Splice)
    • Assist in preparing sales decks and brand one-sheets for various internal and external meetings
    • Conduct online and brick & motor retail audits seasonally as directed and submit findings

 

Context and Scope:

This role will be based in the United States but supporting a global business with aggressive growth targets across our portfolio of brands.  They will be a part of a core team of three people.  They will manage current licensee relationships and will manage agency activities as well. They will be a key part of the strategy to grow the licensing function.

 

Education & Professional Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent mandatory.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Licensing experience preferred.
  •  
  • 1-2 years of experience in licensing role(s).
  • Agency experience or agency management experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, influence, negotiate, motivate and lead a cross-functional support team.
  • Knowledge of key components of contractual licensing agreements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Full working knowledge of computer software including: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Preferred knowledge of cloud-based software including: SharePoint/OneDrive and Skype for Business.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize own workload.
  • Ability to make timely, consistent and well-balanced decisions.
  • Effective written and oral communications skill.
