The Mill’s flagship studio, Mill London, opened its doors in 1990. Located in London’s Fitzrovia, the studio is home to over 300 creators working across Mill VFX, Mill Direction and Mill Experience projects. The Mill’s London home overlooks the iconic BT tower, and is surrounded by some of the best eateries in town. The London creative community often gathers on The Mill’s rooftop bar and terrace, which plays host to a number of industry and staff events. 

Job Description

We are looking for Lighting Artist to join our Shanghai studio for upcoming projects, helping to create CG to the highest standard across a wide variety of projects, from creative and award-winning advertisements, stunning game trailers to movie work.

Lighters should have a proven track record in commercials, TV or Film, who are comfortable taking on a range of tasks independently or as part of a team. Candidates with a strong set of Generalist skills are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

·     Produce high-quality lighting and rendering for our CG scenes

·     Basic compositing to ensure correct hand off to 2D

·     Work with CG Supervisors / Leads, Lighting Artists determine best approaches to solve 3D challenges and develop final looks

·     Assemble and layout scenes

·     Light moderate to complex interior and exterior scenes and products

Qualifications

·     Understand rendering, lighting, shading networks, polygonal modeling, and texture UV's

·     Have solid artistic skills, including an understanding of color theory, composition, light and form

·     Thorough knowledge of PBR workflows

·     Basic skills in modelling, texturing and compositing

·     High standard of quality control

·     Ability to work as part of a team and take feedback/direction positively

·     Additional Skills in Character/Creature Animation skills, Rigging, Character FX is a big plus

·     English and Mandarin preferred but not essential
