Job Overview
The Line Keeper has the knowledge about all equipment and processes in their area to ensure the daily production requirements at MBV are met. You will be responsible for the output in amount and quality in that area. You will also make improvements and partner with engineering to maintain processes and equipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform setup operations for special cases (establish tooling and process for non-standard manufacturing cases)
- Perform plant and machinery upgrades for non-standard cases, test parts, new parts and prototypes without plans in some cases
- If necessary, create complex upgrade plans for non-standard processes. Release processes for standardization
- Identify, analyze, and suggest countermeasures, partner with connected areas of expertise to correct issues
- Perform failure analysis on manufacturing processes and on the product
- Must be self-managed and show exemplarily leadership skills while solving complex problems
- Perform welds, weld testing, and analyze weld parameters to solve weld issues
- Control the machines used in production and be able to identify problems and solve these problems
- Identifying and analyzing errors and malfunctions and involve maintenance for repair / optimization
- Perform daily equipment checks, monitoring equipment performance
- Be involved with optimizing resources and installations (idea generation and planning)
- Changing processes
- Changing hardware
- Perform cycle time analysis and optimize as needed
- Interact with maintenance and planning
- Overtime may be required
- Set up and feed machines, operate automated and robotic welding machines
- Monitor and set up machinery for optimal performance
- Sanding, grinding and deburring of metals
- Work with hand, power, and pneumatic tools
- Perform quality and visual inspection of final welds
- Assemble and fabricate metal structure according to work specifications
- Read and interpret diagrams and blueprints of the process
- Efficiently and safely load machines with required parts and identify any issues that arise
- Participate in the Continuous Improvement Program
