Linguistic Services Manager

About the role:
As the Linguistic Services Manager, you will be part of a team that is fully dedicated to one of our biggest global clients. You will work together with your colleagues and the production teams around the world, to apply, define and implement new and current language quality management processes in order to ensure our deliverables are in line with the client’s expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide linguistic services to the production team, vendor managers, and client.
- Review all new client requests to help define the correct linguistic profile, optimized workflow, and quality strategy.
- Manage end-to-end Linguistic QA process: Regularly analyze quality results, metrics, and trends, provide quality and performance feedback to translation teams and reviewers.
- Support linguistic evaluation of machine translation output, language recognition, semantic parsing, the annotation for Machine Learning.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Proactively develop, design, and implement quality management methodologies, special linguistic services (quality reporting and monitoring, vendor training, language asset development & maintenance, in the area of program language quality) for our clients.
- Deliver assigned linguistic services tasks (e.g. enforcement of linguistic guidelines, proactively manage quality across assigned languages).
- Define profiles of linguists needed for various domains and content types, create test quizzes to test the new candidates, evaluate their suitability for the specific task, interview them and make recommendations with regards to their future collaboration.
- Provide training to translators and assorted linguistic stakeholders, etc.
Requirements:
- Degree in Linguistics, Computational linguistics or translation is a must or equivalent working experiences
- Min. 3 years working experience in Linguistics quality role
- Perfect command of spoken and written English
- Translation/review of IT content, expert knowledge of localization workflows and social media
- Very good skills with Microsoft Office software, especially MS Excel
- Very good coordinating and communication skills (providing training, communication with customers)
- Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment, have a flexible attitude to work and good problem resolution skills
- Knowledge of CAT, terminology management, and other linguistic tools welcome
- A good understanding of MT, Machine Learning, and AI-related localization activities is a big plus
