Applied Materials is looking for an experienced Linux DevOps engineer to join our global world class IT organization.

Job description

• Capable to work independently, receive minimal guidance, acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
• Identify and execute continuous improvement projects for existing systems, Recommend architectural changes as perceived needs arise.
• Resolve incident levels tickets escalated from L1/l2, Respond and lead single system outages, Support cross functional initiatives as required
• Development of reporting and dashboards for resourcing spend, vendor spends, and project budgets.  Assists with project portfolio management.
• Coordinates internal reviews and audits. Supports Applied confidential processes. Documents audit findings and follows up on resolutions.
• Provides guidance to core IT compliance processes, including project and program management methodology and documentation.
• Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of inform          

Requirements

• 3+ years of Expertise in Redhat (6,7,8) and Ubuntu (16,18) Linux operating system
• This would include:
• Redhat and Ubuntu OS installation (ISO/kickstart/PXE)
• Working With Dockers including building docker files, maintaining repository, registry maintenance
• Working with Ansible, or  Chef or Puppet
• Experience with ESXi, DRS capabilities, Vmotions , storage migration
• Work with SW Groups  -  significant advantage (Python Environment advantage)
• Worked in a DevOps environment and improve developer workflow, increasing scalability , continuous integration (CI) , continuous development(CD)
• Scripting knowledge (Bash, Python, PowerShell)
• Cloud exposure(Preferably AWS / Azure)
• Security Vulnerabilities remediation
• ITIL Exposure (Service Now workflow)
• Expertise with Red Hat satellite server or use of Ubuntu Landscape for Life cycle management of the product
• Expertise in Redhat/Ubuntu LVM configuration & troubleshooting include vgimporting and vgexporting and LVM recovery Experience.
• System performance Management, analysis and troubles shooting.
• Creation, Installation and administration of Red Hat/Ubuntu Virtual machines in VMware Environment.
• Working with GPU/vGPU/Drivers
• Installs, Upgrades, Patches, Configuration, performance tuning on UNIX and System software & hardware.
• Work experience in Kubernetes
• Jenkins (Preferred)
• GIT(Preferred)
