This is a Local Division Manager role reporting to the Division President or Global Business Area Manager (or Regional Service Manager, BL Service) in the Business Area - Industrial Automation, Marine & Ports located in Shanghai, China. As a Local Division Manager, you will be responsible for the respective unit. You will lead and coordinate the respective local unit. LD Manager is to oversight the unit for strategy implementation, sales, customer relationship, project execution and to drive growth and operational excellence in the unit. LD Manager is responsible for the fiduciary duties and implementation of leadership practices within the local Area.

Your responsibilities

• Implementing the Global Division and Business Area strategies. Providing input to Global Division and Business Area strategy.
• Ensuring development of performance targets in line with global targets and ensuring achievement through oversight and definition of improvement actions as needed.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction. Being responsible, together with Global Business Area Managers, for the project execution in Local Division.
• Implementing HSE and business compliance standards and regulations in the Country on behalf of the Global Division. Personally, living the ABB values and Group standards. Supporting the Global Business Area in their Local Business Area responsibility for the same.
• Ensuring (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates. Ensuring professional leadership practices are in place and implemented. Being responsible for the fiduciary duties and implementation of leadership practices within the local Area.

Your background

• M.Sc. in Engineering.
• Preferably more than 10 years of experience with proven success in business management roles.
• Solid understanding of development, productization, engineering and testing
• Solid track record in large scale project execution.
• Ability to anticipate customer needs and market trends.
• Strong, well-developed communication, influencing, coaching and leadership skills.
• Marine industry experience is considered an advantage.
