In this position, you will be responsible for managing the LAR Accounting Team. This person will be responsible for accounting professionals local statutory accounting and USGAAP accounting for Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Spain, and Costa Rica; and USGAAP accounting for Brazil and Canada. The team handles multiple Legal Entities, some with External audit requirements.
Some of the exciting challenges you will work on are Tax, Compliance and Financial Audits (EY) non-capital assets controls implementation in compliance with Free Trade Zone regulations in Costa Rica, partner with Taxes and LAR FnA to deliver Legal Entities liquidation, enabling a system solution for the region and define the optimal delivery model.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
Driving operational excellence and full compliance with US GAAP and Local Statutory for LAR legal entities. Strong business partnership ensuring solid execution by meeting quality and customer services indicators and meeting service level agreements.
Set the vision in collaboration with International accounting controllers for driving end to end transformation of processes through innovation.
Guidance to the team for the effective resolution of complex accounting issues
Lead global and local projects
Risk management and controls applying sound judgment
Hiring, integration, and development of team members increasing technical depth and understanding of E2E process to dive excellence and provide a landing zone for future opportunities

Qualifications
You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance.
8+ years combined experience in accounting.
5+ years of experience in people management.
Advanced English level.
Must have permanent-unrestricted right to work in Costa Rica.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience/knowledge US GAAP compliance is a plus.
