Servicing customers across a whole range of industries, from automotive, software, electronics and high-tech companies to finance, life sciences and travel and tourism, RWS Localization Project Managers work on a wide variety of international projects, including complex technical documentation, multimedia applications, localizing web and marketing materials, preparing software for global markets and international e-learning solutions.

About The Role:

From launching websites in new countries, localizing global video campaigns, translating car manuals for well recognized automotive companies to blog posts for world leading gaming corporations, you will be an integral part of the translation process. The aim is to ensure client retention, satisfaction and ultimately repeat revenue growth.

Through effective written and verbal communication with both internal and external stakeholders, you will be expected to manage translation projects keeping to both time and budget. The day-to-day goal is to ensure that the linguists are clear on the scope, complexity and expectations whilst the clients are kept fully informed on the progress, position and financial status of their projects. Problem solving and teamwork are key skills in this role requiring an adaptable, well-organized candidate.

For the internship and graduate programs, experience or an interest in language or global business is encouraged. Project Management thrives on transferable skills and is well suited to any enthusiastic, determined individual.

Finally, the Localization Project Manager Intern will be required to complete a unique project during their time with RWS that will focus on an area of their choosing but with the intention of improving a process, quality, etc. The Localization Project Manager Intern will present their proposal to RWS management during their final month and if accepted will help to begin implementing it into daily work. 

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of projects to client’s expectations achieving targeted levels of profitability.
  • Analysis of files using translation memory tools and systems 
  • Compiling estimates and proposals for approval.  
  • Assignment of appropriate translation teams, rate negotiation and deadline coordination with translators, typesetters, engineers, in-country client reviewers, etc.
  • Adhering to the sales process and RWS project processes.  
  • Close financial monitoring and control of projects through budgets, invoicing and change orders to ensure timely and final invoicing.  
  • Strategic project planning involving best practices, processes, and risk assessments.  
  • Accurate documentation and filing of all project related materials.  
  • Identification and development of project/process improvement opportunities and escalating to Program Manager.  
  • Hosting regular, documented verbal and written communications with clients, network offices and internal team members.

  • Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure  
  • Adaptable and flexible to a changing work environment  
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Suite) 

Desired Skills

  • Degree in either Translation Project Management or a business-related area or equivalent work experience  
  • Project management experience is a plus  
  • Familiar in the use of CAT tools (including translation memories, content management, and glossary and file management tools)

Base Pay:

18.00-22.00 per hour

Non-exempt

Actual rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to: position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
