Purpose of the Position:
Logistics manager will manage, supervise, plan, and execute all aspects of the outsourced warehouse & distribution operation for the life sciences division in the Asia region excluding mainland of China. This position will be responsible for making logistical arrangements and ensure on-time delivery of products to customers. Logistics manager will ensure accuracy of inventory records and that all shipments comply fully with government import/export regulations. In addition, one of the responsibilities of logistics manager will be the overall safety and operation of the warehouse and distribution activities.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
Plan and prepare all required shipment logistics and documents for on-time, defect free shipment of products to customers
Identify improvement opportunities and implement those that improve the business’ ability to meet changing market requirements.
Support implementation of supply chain strategy to optimize manufacturing, marketing and distribution
Manages relationship and performance of outsourced Warehousing and Distribution activities
Ensures all shipments fully comply with all applicable local government and global trade regulations and duties
Maintain inventory records that accurately itemize the product code and quantity of all inventory items. (Inventory may include finished goods, packing materials, etc.)
Decide best shipment method to balance the need for on-time shipment while achieving lowest possible transportation costs
Complete all required transactions related to the receipt and disbursement of inventoried items to and from the warehouse
Continuously improve the cycle time for processing orders and shipments to customers
Continuously improve the cost of shipments by collaborating with Corporate Procurement and Transportation
Oversees and ensures high performance in customer or government audits of logistics and inventory processes
Manage warehouse department, receiving and shipping operations to be in full compliance with corporate Safety, Health and Environmental requirements
Develops warehousing network and inventory management/control in alignment with commercial plans and strategies.
Collaborates with product development to ensure proper packaging of materials for undamaged and timely delivery.
Provide the controls to maintain accurate inventories, using cycle counting, etc.
Negotiates contracts with suppliers and third party providers for warehousing, distribution and transportation.
Ensures policies, procedures and training are in place for optimization of workforce.
Maintain documentation of warehouse processes, procedures and policies. Conduct regular reviews of these and assess opportunities for improvements in cost, quality and service. Establish measurements to monitor proper execution of these processes, procedures and policies.
Develop and track key metrics related to the performance of the warehouse. This includes maintaining a monthly scorecard to support Supply Chain and Division Vital Few.
Effectively communicate warehouse performance, key initiatives, issues, changes to the CLS organization and others.
Effectively lead the development and implementation of continuous improvement in processes, work rules, teamwork, etc. Utilize performance excellence tools. Effectively communicate changes and improvement throughout the organization.
Link logistics strategy to department MBOs and development plans of direct and indirect reports.

Supply Management
Effectively collaborate with regional supply chain planning and the U.S. CenterPoint distribution center on shipment planning, discrepancy and issue resolution and improvement initiatives.
Maintain subject matter expertise in CLS distribution processes and systems.
Maintain current knowledge on trade compliance and customs regulations in China and Asia
Work interactively with the Asia Supply Chain Manager and the global supply chain team in the continual improvement of the supply chain. Reduce lead time, cost and asset investment.

HR
Determine appropriate levels of staffing based on volume and customer requirements to meet quality, service and cost targets.
For direct reports, establish and manage by MBO’s, conduct regular 1:1s, and performance reviews.
Work with Asia Supply Chain Manager to support succession planning and talent reviews for logistics personnel. Establish and manage learning and development plans for key individuals in the team.
Lead/conduct regular audits to determine consistency in proper execution of logistics and distribution processes, procedures and policies.

Education & Experience
Required
Bachelor or Master degree in Logistics/ Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
At least 5 years’ experience within a dynamic & changing logistic environments in multinational corporation
At least 3 years proven leadership record
Good verbal and written communication skills in Chinese and English.
Proficient PC skills, and office software
Experience in leading a team of direct and indirect reports
Experience in multicultural matrix organization.
Experience and knowledge of supply chain systems such as warehousing, distribution and inventory management
Experience in project management within a changing environment, managing 3PL, QA, temperature controlled transportation and how to apply lean management

Desired
Experience with managing a regional distribution center/hub.
Experience with global manufacturing and business through work or project experience.
