Eaton’s ESSG Division is currently seeking a Logistics Manager to join our team. This position will be based at our Burlington, Ontario office. Position Overview: This position is responsible for the development and execution of the Canadian business transportation strategy required to support the Canadian Divisions sales and marketing strategies while ensuring the cost optimization targets of the multiple logistics networks within the Canadian division are met regionally. Manage and monitor all logistics related activities to ensure that the Company operates under full compliance with Canadian and International Logistics regulations, and within Eaton ethics guidelines, policies and procedures. In this function you will: Leading logistics provider strategy development and deployment; Freight payment and freight claims management, Participation in network studies and lead logistics sourcing decision making for the Canadian division. Maximizing supplier value contribution to achieve divisional profit plans for logistics cost out. Managing Logistics spend segmented by mode and by business to achieve the key results required to meet business objectives. Managing all Logistics vendor contract negotiations for the Canadian businesses to optimize inbound and outbound freight expenses. Providing services that optimize Eaton internal and external material flow costs and ensure peak performance/service levels are delivered by Eaton logistics service providers. Communicating to a diverse group of senior level management within and outside the corporation on logistics freight spend, logistics cost out targets and freight compliance while driving root cause and corrective action plans as required. Developing, planning and managing strategic process improvements and projects across our logistics network and throughout our Canadian sites to ensure profit plan and cost out goals are met. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business / Commerce or Supply Chain Demonstrated knowledge of EBS / continuous improvement / Lean methods and / or tools; with No relocation provided. Candidates must reside within 80km of Burlington ON Must be authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship. Preferred qualifications: 3-5 years’ experience in Logistics related role considered an asset CCLP certification or equivalent Six Sigma, Lean or PMP is considered an asset Position Criteria: Ability and willingness to objectively tackle complex high-level operational challenges using a practical combination of traditional and innovative methods. Strategic (macro) perspective when analyzing trends or planning Professional presence with the confidence and leadership ability to convey need and vision at all levels. Strong collaborative bias towards recognizing and assembling the right team to accomplish the corporate objective. Decisive and able to make decisions to achieve greater value An active change agent who is willing to take an appropriate amount of risk. An individual with a strong customer focus and sense of urgency Interpersonal and influencing skills in a matrix organization Data-driven, fact-based management Highly effective leadership and communication skills People development/selection/coaching skills Cost Reduction Methodologies including Logistics OPEX, Lean and Six Sigma Must be a creative (out of the box) thinker and have a vision of how to drive the organization to the next level.
