Objective of Task
The BBAC Logistics Planning department is responsible to plan and implement all Logistics-related processes for new type and series projects in the BDA plants. Together with our partners we enable the growing production volume, handle the increasing complexity and continuously improve efficiency.
We as Logistics Planning Drive Systems team are representing the voice of Logistics in all engine, battery and eDrive localization projects in the role as Project Lead Logistics. Furthermore we are defining the optimal end-to-end material flow for those products and planning all related inbound, intra and outbound logistics processes.
For our next generation battery project we are searching for a highly motivated and qualified Logistics Planning Engineer Battery. Your future tasks as part of the Logistics project team are:
Job Description
- Planning, evaluation and optimization of Logistics processes for next generation battery production at BBAC (material flow, equipment, manpower, IT-systems) in alignment with counterparts from other departments in the project
- Represent the Logistics function and interests in the project and towards other functions such as project lead (WPL), production planning, production, quality and purchasing
- Design of the complete material flow including inbound processes from part suppliers, intralogistics processes within the plant and outbound processes to the customer plants
- Implementation of Logistics standards according to Mercedes-Benz New Lean Concept (NLC), adaptation of innovative technologies and benchmarking with industry leaders
- Specification of Logistics equipment (e.g. AGVs, trolleys, racks) and active tracking of the purchasing process including communication with suppliers and the purchasing department
- Ensure stable ramp-up of Logistics processes until SOP including preparation of masterdata, warehouse and line-feeding processes as well as JIS-processes for battery delivery to the vehicle plants
- Drive continuous improvement, analyze weak points, identify and implement improvement measures in series
- Preparation of RFQ documents for outsourcing of on-site Logistics services and support the bidding process
