The Maine Municipal Association Department of Risk Management Services is currently accepting resumes for Loss Control Manager. This senior management position is responsible for operation of the Risk Management Services (RMS) Loss Control program.
This position is responsible for overall operation of the Loss Control Department, including planning, coordination and monitoring of Loss Control activities and direct interaction with program participants. The position directs, monitors and is responsible for performance of a five Loss Control Consultants and a Loss Control Technician. The position reports to the Director of Risk Management Services, and works in coordination with the RMS Underwriting and Claims departments.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in loss control/loss prevention and hazard identification/mitigation concepts for public sector exposures plus ability to apply these concepts in executing loss control programs for program participants. The candidate must possess comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, Maine BOL, NFPA and other safety regulations pertaining to public entities plus general knowledge of underwriting, claims and other insurance related activities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of computing applications and ability to utilize other computer programs is a must. Ability to establish and maintain professional working relations with municipal officials, regulatory agencies, vendors and other insurance professionals is essential. Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in engineering, science, business administration, insurance or a related field, professional designation, such as ALCM (Associate in Loss Control Management) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) is desired. Management level experience with loss control/loss prevention activities is required.
