Job Description
Lower School Art teacher required for prestigious international school in Haikou.
You must meet the following requirements for a visa or working permit:
1. 2 years teaching experience.
2. A degree where the title includes subject taught.
3. B. Ed, Bachelors with Teaching Qualification, M. Ed, PGCE or PGDE, UK Qualified Teacher Status, UK Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills or similar teaching qualification.
4. Proficient in English.
5. Should hold a valid passport from either Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, United Kingdom or United States.
6. References, Medical check, Criminal background check
7. Below 55 years of age
Overall Responsibilities
Provide professional leadership and management of the Art in order to secure high quality teaching, the
effective use of resources and improved standards of learning and achievement for all students
Model and promote best practice in the teaching and learning in the Art
Monitor and evaluate all aspects of the work within Art and to respond appropriately to emergent issues
ensuring that students are supported in their learning journey
Promote high standards in all aspects of school life, particularly in student progress with Art
Actively support the values, vision, ethos, culture and policies of the school
Inspire and motivate students, teachers and other school employees
Comply with the professional duties of the staff Code of Conduct
Contribute to a school culture which is positive, purposeful and professional
Engage positively in the school Appraisal process and performance management arrangements
Are committed to safeguarding and to promoting the welfare of children and young people
Education, training and qualifications
• Appropriate degree, with UK PGCE, or other equivalent teaching qualification giving qualified teacher status
• Recent experience working in Early Years or KS1
• Evidence of relevant and challenging continuing professional development
Knowledge and experience
• Minimum two years’ teaching experience
Education, training and qualifications

Working knowledge of a variety of Curriculums including KS1 & KS2 Levels as appropriate
Evidence of relevant and challenging continuing professional development
Knowledge and experience

Be aware and up to date in all relevant safeguarding polices and practice
Knowledge and experience of how to use of ICT effectively in promoting student learning
Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities
Previous experience or knowledge of working with students for whom English is not their first language
Personal qualities
