We are looking for an Operations Analyst for a global manufacturing accounting project, where the key objective is to improve and standardise the end-to-end manufacturing accounting processes, delivering more granular cost performance reporting and insights to enable better decision making. Operations provide critical inputs into all of the finance processes we are touching, and we need deep Operations expertise to enable us to ensure that we take into consideration Operations PLAN and MAKE processes, both existing and targeted future states within our solution. (Although these processes are out of the scope of MAP, they do provide key inputs to our project).
The project is replacing existing non-standard, manual, regionally defined processes with efficient and effective global processes, underpinned by consistent systems configurations and tooling. The scope of the project covers the largest sites in AstraZeneca’s manufacturing network across APAC, EMEA and NAM.
This role will require understanding of Supply Chain Planning (e.g. volume planning and forecasting, SAP APO, changeover matrices), SC Master Data (including Material Master, BOMs, Recipes, Standard Value Keys, Phantom BOMs etc) as well as an understanding of MAKE processes, including Process Order execution, goods issue and goods receipting processes, electronic batch records and functional (user) knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems in use at AstraZeneca. In addition, experience in Standard Product Costing at the manufacturing site level such as building and providing inputs into the LTP / MTP process for the annual budgeting cycle.
The role will be responsible for providing key analysis and Operations perspective inputs supporting the design of:
Standard Product Costing which includes the following areas
Master data (such as production volumes, BOMs, Recipes, Resource definitions)
Cost allocations
Standard cost calculations
Cost accounting which includes the following areas
Cost centre accounting
Process order accounting
New product introduction accounting
Cost allocations
Third party supplier
Sub-contracting (GES/BES/Toll)
Primary distribution costs
Inventory accounting which includes the following areas;
Actual product costing
Variance deferral
Inventory provisions and write offs
Intercompany revaluation
Intercompany profit
Stock in transit
Performance Measurement
Helping drive insights to improve operations and the cost of manufacturing across the AZ network
Supporting and influencing Ops leadership in driving business adoption

Support in the development and implementation of standardised leading practice based processes delivering efficiency and effectiveness for finance whilst accommodating the needs of Operations
Support sites and GFS in adapting standard global processes & policies to ensure regional compliance
Defend and drive the adoption of global processes, approving deviations or localisation only where there is valid and approved justification reasons for:
Tax
Legal
Statutory
Contribute and validate in the development of integrated and standardised system configurations
Support the development of global standardised reports and forms
Support the development of process and systems roles according to segregation of duties
Contribute into related master data definitions, usage and policies
Partake in UAT and validation of test results
Assist where possible, in the resolution of testing defects
Support the production of communications and training materials
Be the change champion and assisting in the governance of change management
Your essential qualifications, skills and experiences:
Degree or equivalent professional qualification
Experience of cost accounting, inventory accounting and performance measurement with best practise standards in pharma industry
Experience of global technology implementations (ERP and BI tools )
Proven solid working knowledge of SAP and BI
Proven ability to support multiple projects/tasks effectively
Experience of change management and change management processes
Demonstrated success working in a team environment
Demonstrated success building cross-functional global networks and stakeholder management
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Experience of implementing business change across different national and business boundaries
Up to date knowledge of developments within the wider Finance function and understanding of how changes may affect the function (or be leveraged to drive continuous improvement).
Ideal candidates will have specific pharma industry and process experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Oral and written fluency in Business English
Manufacturing Site Experience in Finance or Supply Chain
EBR (Electronic Batch Record) such as Pas-X Experience
Desirable:
CIMA/CA professional qualification OR Supply Chain related professional qualification
Broad process experience (development, management and application of)
Significant work experience in supply chain finance
Expert knowledge in specialist process area
EBR (Electronic Batch Record) such as Pas-X Experience
